The second wave of the corona has shaken the confidence of the general people which they had gained during the first wave. During the first corona wave, most of the people in rural India and people of some particular ideology or group blamed the corona pandemic government-induced or mere political gimmick. When the cases of death of corona patients started rising from March 2021, people started blaming the government for its failure in arranging oxygen and ICU beds in the hospital after the first wave of the corona. Though the same people had started behaving like the normal time before February 2020 and started attending weddings, functions and used to visit markets without using masks and maintaining physical distancing.
When corona cases started rising, and scarcity of beds in the hospitals arose they started blaming the government for organizing Kumbh Mela and holding Assembly Elections in certain States. Undoubtedly, Kumbh Mela and Elections played a crucial role in rising of Covid cases, even then the responsibility of common people who nonchalantly dealt with the existing corona pandemic cannot be ruled out.
Actually, in a country like India, unless every citizen behaves responsibly and carefully, it is not possible to fight with any such disease or pandemic like Corona. Our alertness to the problem is the primary need of hour unless we ourself take responsibility to control the spread of pandemic by our own behavior and conduct, it is not possible to stop spread infection, either it is corona or anything else.
We should stand together as frontline warriors to fight with the pandemic by making ourself alert to the dangers of the pandemic and alerting others to the pandemic. Without public participation, it would not be possible to defeat a pandemic or virus only by government measures.
